HD DVD/BLU Ray to LCD Monitor

I was wondering if i get an lcd monitor(SAMSUNG 226BW) with a DVI input and later on buy a HD/Blu Ray player and hooked the two up by using a "DVI to HDMI Video Adapter" would it work fine?

it will if the monitor supports HDCP. just check the specs, im guessing it will be fine since its samsung
EDIT: i just checked newegg and from what i can see it supports HDCP so yes you will be able to use a blu-ray/hd dvd player.

Can you explain to me in order to hook the player up to the monitor, why must the monitor have HDCP, i just googled HDCP, but i dont understand, could u plz explain? ty

HDCP encrypts the data from the source to location of transmission. The signal quality is encapsulated and protected from interference to ensure a perfect picture quality.
