ok i changed the multi to 7, and only changed that. Super pi was 18.501
Should i try for 3.6ghz at x7 multi. FSB of 514?

Since you cannot in real-world set the same system for these two combinations, it is hard to show you the results.
514mhz x7 would be a 1:1, as I doubt your HZ's can do 1285mhz, to keep a 4:5 ratio. Even then..you would want to compare the NB speed and its affect on performance, so the only way to simulate that would be to use a e6700..like mine and set the same clocks and such as your setup...only my cpu would lower the multi 3x to match your FSB,DDR and CPU speed.

Assuming we could run the same benchies is a 'controlled setup', our tests should show the NB's affect on the performance of system.

Im game..but my I dont get my SuperTalent ddr 800 until friday afternoon..so any test for now, will have to be done between 800-915mhz..[ocz is ok i guess ]

well, im thinking about using an 8 multi. This will take my fsb to 450 and well over my strap. Also my memory will have higher fsb and it should give it a nice bump in performance. Ill let you know

well the 8 muti did not work. would not start up at all. Then i tried 1000mhz at 4-4-4-12 with 2.5v and i got the blue screen shutdown.
I have to say, the best thing i have done that made my system stable was set the north bridge to 1.45v. That seemed to even everything out and give me what i needed to get over the strap. Right now i am at 400x9 3.6ghz 1600 fsb 500mhz mem 5-5-5-15 and it is stable. I think i am going to run another stability test to make sure (30 min) then bench with it. Tonight i will do the 12hr stability test

****..2.5v your killing them!

You are only vdimm drooping by .5v on that mobo..you know that right..? You should only need 2.3-2.35 to hit 1000mhz at 4-4-4-12-4-25-8-9-9-9...you could even loosen it to 4-4-4-14-4blahblah...So you have not lowered your cpu multi then...good. I am running that same setup now on my p5b-dlx/e6700 combo.

400fsb
ddr @ 800mhz 4-4-4-13-4-30-8-9-9-9 @ 1.9v
Fsb Term V- 1.4v
NB- 1.4v
SB- 1.6v
ICH- 1.2v
PCI-E freq- 100mhz
CPU at 3.6ghz, 9x multi [lowered 1x from stock]
cpu vcore- 1.41v

So my NB is running at 444mhz...yours is at 400mhz.

sorry, my mem is at 2.25..my bad lol. And right now, i am happy with my overclock. I like my speeds and i like my vcore on my mem to be 2.25 not 2.3 and higher. The only thing i dont like is that my cpu vcore is 1.537...I think there could be a way to get it lower...but so far nothing has worked. But my cooling is holding up...at 1.537vcore and 1600fsb with 3.6ghz its keeping things cool under 55c. but i would like to go lower =(

Dont feel bad..its hot here, Im W/C'd and loading around 51c !

*just for future reference: DD5+e6700+vmod'd 7900gt = too much heat dump to keep a good delta, with only a 120.2 BIX2 and some killer fans from the darkside.

well i am back to where i was about 4 hours ago. I have all my settings back to where they were when i passed my 1 hour stress test in orthos...and now it fails after the first loop for no EFFING REASON! I am running memtest for 2 loops in windows, them im gonna run small fft's for an hour and see if each by themselves is stable. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU COMPUTER!
