My first attempt

Thread Starter
Taking my first shot at a system build and overclocking. Below is what I've got and the settings I'm currently at. I'm not looking to water cool or go over the top, I just want to push it as far as I safely can with what I've got. I'd appreciate any feedback.

E6700
EVGA 680i SLI 775
EVGA 8800 GTX 768

CPU Speed = 3200.732
CPU Multiplier = 10.000
FSB Frequency = 320
Memory Frequency = 800.000
PCIE Frequency = 3750

GPU Core Speed = 622
GPU Memory Speed = 900

CPU Voltage = 1.425 v
Core Voltage = 1.500 v
AGP Voltage = 1.200 v
Aux Voltage = 1.500 v
Memory Voltage = 1.825 v

I ran basic tests using the NVIDIA panel and the CPU temp maxed at 62 and seems to be idling around 48. From what I've read that might be a little high. I'm planning some time with the 3DMark06 software tomorrow night, to thoroughly test the GPU.

Again, any advice would help. Thanks

The heat sink is just the standard that came with E6700 package. I installed an additional fan that came with the motherboard and site on the SPP heatsink, but I'm guessing that does nothing for the CPU. I also did not use any Artic Silver, but after doing more research I see that should, so its on the way.

Funny you both said something about the PSU. I researched this before I bought the case and found nothing but good reviews on several websites.

Sounds good. Thanks for the feedback. Let's assume the heat sink and as5 bring the temps down, are the numbers I'm reaching for reasonable. I read about many similar setups and this seemed like a good target, without too much worry.
