QUAD2X4096-8500C5DF Dominator Kit...

Thread Starter
I was wondering how it is (Here) I came into a bit of money recently and I was thinking of getting 4 gigs of ram, and selling my Ballistix. No one's written a review on Newegg (Not that those matter too much), and I was just wondering what people thought of them. Or if there's another 4x1 kit that's recommended.

I don't like investing crazy amounts of money on things, but I'm also impatient. It sucks that DDR3 will be the new standard soon with the X38 or P35 chipsets ruling the board, and I'll be on my lowly 680i, but I figure I might as well stay on top of things for awhile.

What do you guys think?

Why not get two sets of patriot extreme performance 8500 2*1GB. rated at 5-5-5-9 and 2.3v. Much cheaper much much cheaper. will perobably cost you half as much after MIR.

If you are still thinking of the dominators, you can get TWO 2*1GB sets for 100$ less after MIR anyways HERE. The reviews on them scare me though.

Has anyone tried the Black Dragon (Geil) Ram yet? It's a good 160+ less than what you're looking at... plus it's quad channel.

just a thought

Great looking Ram, Overclocks great also. I have it running DDR2 1066,100% Stable at 4-4-4-12 at 2.2 volts.
Good reviews, I would strongly recommend those then! I think ill get my hands on some. But I already have 6GB of ram assorted between 6400 and 5300, what am I gonna do with it...

Some people are kinda put off by the LED's, but if you get a good heatspreader, you won't even see them.

No matter what you get, i'd check into professional reviews around on the net. I'm sure there's one for any set of ram you're looking to get

that ainth true, check corsairs website and u will see newer memory modules only need 2.1 vdimm which ainth micron d9gmh or d9gkx at all

the QUAD2X4096-8500C5DF needs 2.2 vdimm for reachin epp , so i think they kept using handpicked d9gmh for this kit because it ainth easy to make 4 x 1gb work (stable) at pc8500 speeds..

Nope. You don't get D9 from Corsair unless you get these:
