well, I have a P5NE-SLI but it's preety much the same board.

-Set all comands to manual
-set memory and fsb to unlinked
-you can esily just jump up to 3.2ghz with 1.3v - 1.32V
-set the quad FSB to 1422. (it will give you a FSB of 355*9=3.2Ghz)
-AFTER that and you've made sure it's stable at those settings, then start increasing the RAM fsb by 10MHZ each time. Dont rush it, i burnt TWO P5NE-sli because of the ram.

your ram should be able to hit at least 900.

exactly as Nevaziah said, just also watch your RAM voltages, just set them for 2.1-2.2 volts when overclocked, don't go over that unless the manual says so.

-Set all of the spectrum controls to disabled

-before installing Windows set the RAM voltage, I didn't set mine, and it screwed up my windows install.

-set CPU VTT to 1.55, don't know what it does, doesn't affect temps, big time helps overclocks.

-never us AI overclock, I tried it and could get past 10%, manutally set everything and now my CPU is at a 50% overclock.

-leave all voltages except the RAM, and CPU VTT alone for now. set the CPU FSB to something like 1200, then increase by 50 mhz without adjusting the CPU voltage. after setting the FSB (thus CPU) to a new speed play a game for a while, Company of Hero's and Doom 3 are pretty rough on the CPU especially the CoH benchmark. It might freeze or restart, then just increase the voltage a little.

-Watch your temps, these are under "power"->"temperature monitor", I try to keep my CPU temp. below 45 degrees C at this screen.

-same as above for the chipset they call it the "board temperature" I don't know if this is southbridge or what.

what kind of cooling do you have on the northbridge? if it is stock, then screw a 40mm fan onto into the heatsink blowing down, this shaved 10 degrees off my h20 cooled board.

that guide is good but i need a screen by screen guide or a settings list this seems to be a general guide which is cool but still leaves me a little stumped

the voltage screen is the most confusing for me i just need to know exactly what to set each one to for my e6600 and my crucial ram

thanx for the help

hi neva,

can you tell me the setting of your overclock?

1) Vcore set to what voltage?
2) your memory timing? memory voltage set?
3) what minimum of memory mhz if i set the fsb to 1800 (450 mhz fsb)? i set mine to 667mhz which is stock speed for my kingston kvr667 but still hang after a few min running orthos? do i have to increase the memory voltage to make it stable? if yes, which is best voltage to set, 1.9v or what?
4) see my sig for my system spec
5) thanks

You'll hit 3.0Ghz easily enough with that board and an E6600 without haveing to even touch any of the other voltages. Just raise your FSB from 1066 to 1333 and leave all other voltages and settings on AUTO.
