No, he means Durons...

Duron Applebred core, wich was actually a t-bred B with a 192kb l2 cache cut... you could also turn it into an fully working athlon xp just by reconecting some bridges in the cpu...

I had one of these for some time.. they clocked pretty well for their cost, but 64kb l2 cache was a performance killer... here's an aging screenie of my duron

My Shuttle, which I use nearly every day, has an Athlon XP 2700+ in it, and it runs quite well.

lol my old computer sitting in my brother's room has a Socket 462 800mhz Duron

It's a storage machine now (I regularly dump stuff on it because it has 2 80gb hd's)

Does that count as active use?

My old Socket A machine is probably long overdue for a few upgrades. I might pick up an AGP Radeon HD card so I have the option to use it as an HTPC since it's in the living room. A new case certainly wouldn't hurt either.

I am sorry my brethren, but I have had to upgrade and can no longer call myself a socket A man. While my heart cried as I sold some of my first computer parts I could not part with my 9000 pro.

You should all be proud of my Socket A machine because it ended up paying for almost half of my new rig. They are such wonderful chips they still fetch a high price.

I am getting ready to part with my socket A goodness but don't think I could get more then $100 for the whole thing. Where did you sell yours?

I sold my proc, XP 3000 with the 400 mhz fsb for 90 and my mobo, A7N8X for 105. I then used all my other parts and threw in a 754 proc/mobo that i got from a friend for 30 or so and sold the machine for 150. but that was back in August.
