Again, fair enough didn't mean to "attack you personally" I thought you were seriously taking the "well I'm rich b*tch" argument tact. That argument tends to raise my ire, mostly because I'm not rich .

Yeah I'm really looking forward to BioShock as well, I only hope my 7600gt can handle it on low settings and a 17" screen.
I'm not rich, I just pinch pennies. I don't make very much at all actually, but I live quite comfortably.

I just basically got riled up because this turned into more of an 8800/2900 bashing thread than "Oh crap Lost Planet and COJ get bad framerates"

I really think/hope that Crysis and Bioshock will be well coded like HL2 and run on a range of hardware so hopefully you'll be Ok.

wait for this.......or the G120, or just sit around look how cards get developed
whatever you fancy
personally i dont want to wait forever, and im on a tight budget, so i like, but cannot afford the newest, i wanna game now, so im happy with my rig,
there is always a better card under development.......... Crysis will run fine on the future cards, like all previous generation games will run fine on a 8800, expect/hope medium settings for single 8800 systems @ medium/high in sli
One thing is certain, Crysis is gonna be a killer, like Farcry was in DX9...........

i said "i hope" because i don't want to be overconfident about the 8800 + full dx10..+ super/multisampling...Farcry had alot of options, and rigs on their knees (geforce5/ati 9800 series), with AA-AF or HDR enabled.......
although everything maxxed out on a 8800 sounds very good...

In my honest opinion, I believe that natively coded DX10 titles will show more prominent performance on current hardware than these patched, lack luster in differnece, DX10 titles.

I agree...I played the Lost Planet demo and with settings maxed out the game play was allright. If I remember I got something like 25-30fps and that is playable. But like you said, the natively coded DX10 will have a higher performace in the 8800 cards. Till then, I will enjoy the 172FPS on F.E.A.R.

I knew going into this that jumping onto the dx10 bandwagon was risky. But guess what? I can play every single game at ridiculous quality and frame rates. For now at least thats enough for me to be happy.

I guess i bought mine to be ready for crysis, but in all honesty, if it doesn't turn out to run it that well, im not going to claim dx10 the failure, it will be my own for jumping in too soon.

In the end no one knows how dx10 is going to turn out till......................................... just that, it turns out.

Please people do some research before assuming that DX10 is a flop with the current DX10 cards.
THANK YOU!
I'm tired of all the whiners.

+1 rep!
