AM2 X2 3600+, Brisbane vs Windsor

Gonna be building a basic budget rig for my sister. Basic internet, e-mail, digital pictures (viewing mainly, minimal editing) MS office programs, maybe some DVD viewing, but no copying or editing, using XP Pro.
I was initialy thinking of going with the Sempron 3000+ (it is what I have on my kids computer and works well, doing pretty much the same as what she will be doing) but decided to go with a dual core just in case.

For starters, this will not be overclocked.

I know the Brisbane ($63.50) is an awsome overclocker and a good bang for the buck, but what about not overclocked?
Is the Windsor ($58) a better deal (not just cost, but performance)? It is 0.1 GHz faster (yea, I know...), but it has 2x256 L2 and is the 90nm tech. I would think it would not run any hotter at regular speed then a Brisbane OC'd.

Also looking at the 3800+ Windsor ($66), it is the 65 w version so it should run a bit cooler and it has 2x512 of L2.

Go with the Brisbane, the extra cache makes up for the speed difference(the reason they're both 3600's). The smaller tech will require less voltage and in turn help keep temps lower.

either will be fine, but there is the chance that in the future you may throw a few hundred mhz oc (instead of upgrading the entire cpu)

I'd say brisbane due to the cache and the future possibility of ocing

OK, that is what I figured, but just wanted to check.

Brisbane it is.

Brisbane's overall quality is just better.. just seems more effective than windsor.. plus the heat issues are lower with brisbane

Brisbane is newer and will have a higher resale value. Definitly worth the extra cost
