Last time I checked, the Intel chips were out. Last time I checked, AMD said they will not be shipping 2.6Ghz Barcelona at launch.

So...

How are they not deceptive?

Just because they don't ship them at launch doesn't mean they are not there..

AMD may have these so called chips up and running but with lots of bugs.. So can you blame them for not meeting deadline? Yes, and no.

So until they pass Barcelona and no 2.6 chip is released then we can flame AMD all we want.

And after launch if you cannot OC a Barcelona to 2.6 then and only after both of these are done can you call this fake..

We can't judge anything until it is OUT. End of Story.

And to the post above who says thats it AMD is bad I am going Intel lol@you.

Intel has done so much worse, and so much more. And when Barcelona is out and if it is better and cheaper by a margin than intel and you go Intel you are a nub.

So you think it is perfectly fine to compare a old not top of the line Intel chip with bad data to a chip who's future is uncertain and doesn't even have a launch date?

So I guess it would be okay for Intel to compare a Yorksfield to a 1.2Ghz Barcelona? Bah... they don't need to do that to be the performance leader.

Yeah it would be fine.. Who cares what the companies compare it to?
What matters is when the chip is out an a 3rd party compares them.. Then I will care.. If AMD told me th 6000+ was better than a Q6600 I wouldn't pay attention to that.. I would go ahead and look up some REAL benchmarks.

Companies always will inflate their products.

lol, i said maybe.
yea you know what im just gonna stop reading these news posts about AMD delays and benchies etc... they got me all frustrated -- and just like 10 months ago before i built my computer and registered here on OCN i didnt give a bloody damn about when AMD or Nvidia's next thing was coming out and how it would perform. so no more AMD news for me
phew - ok end of my rant.

I too, am sick of these articles. But I try to read them every now and again... I only care about when I am ready to upgrade what will be the best then..

If I upgraded to a new rig tomorrow I would go for a Q6600, with a P35 board and a GTX. That would be enough to pwn any game out now.. If I upgraded in 2 years whatever would be best then.. The best bang for my buck..

The point is that these are real benchmarks for intel that are purposely not up-to-date. Thus, your argument is moot.

They are deceptive...not an all out lie...but deceptive. A good lawer could easily turn this into slander. Though Intel would probally loose more face from that then if they were to just let this slide.

Every business does this. However, most of them do it a little better though with out this much attension. It would be like ford comparing theoretical stats under specific conditions of thier 2009 models to GM's 2006 Models.
