God it doesnt matter yet,AMD has yet to release the CPUs and no one other than the peeps that work at AMD know what is going on and what is going to happen, for all i and even you guys know AMD could come out with the next big thing or crap out of the CPU race all together, hell intel could be found of guilty of all kinds of things tomarrow and go down,I think some of you need to lay off of the hole computer sence, and ether spend time with your wife and kids, get layed,or try and get a girl friend and get layed.k

So its not acceptable for AMD to claim they have a buggy 2.6GHz Barcelona chip, yet Intel can ship the entire Core2 range which has unfixeable bugs?

Intel and AMD are both as bad as each other.

That's ridiculous logic. It is not fair and it is not okay to use months old benchmarks because when your chip gets launched in a few months it will be just as old. You compare your product to current products. Providing benchmarks based on how you think the comparison might be sometime after the release of a future product is pretty damned low

I love how everyone pulls out some speculative graphs that are MONTHS OLD and throws a big hissy fit about them. If AMD lying about its performance was such a big deal, why didn't everyone throw a big stink two months ago? These graphs are such old news it isn't even funny... a couple of moronic articles "OMG AMD is LIAR" and we all of a sudden have two flame AMD threads in news forum.

I am surprised none of the Intel guys in this thread have brought up Intel's fabricated benchmark days... some of the benches they put out a few years ago were absolutely absurd, and it didn't happen just once either.

If you want to talk about false advertising, how about Intel's agressive marketeering that still sold their processors like hotcakes and kept the majority share of the market even when their products were inferior to the competition's... they were basically fooling the public into thinking their cpu's were superior by pushing around their brand name with no hard evidence to back it up, which seems to me to be the same thing everyone is ticked at AMD for? If you imply your product is better that is just the same as coming straight out and saying it IMO.

This is fabricated news. Not to mention which George Ou loves Intel and wants to marry it.

e: Here is a jewel of a comment from the XS thread that Sladesurfer originally linked this post from:

This thread serves no purpose other than senseless flaming. Could someone please lock or delete it? Thanks.

You should probably go back to school and learn English.

Chicks dig good grammar.

I am really, really dissapointed with AMD.

Maybe they are more desperate than we realize... I feel like a part of my innocence has died, now that AMD has thrown away their moral high ground standing.

Kind of like how my heart sank when we didn't find WMDs...

Perhaps you didn't read correctly, but there is "NO" 2.60gh CPU from AMD yet. They're released a max of 2.0ghz. So it's not buggy but deceptive to give and show results of a non existing product.

Yet, that bug won't save Athlon and Opterons processor from getting annihilated by Core 2 Duo processors.
