Also, autoGK, whenever you compact it, does it severly effect quality?

In http://www.doom9.org/dvddec.htm Doom9 describes the three modes of DVD Decrypter from an operational point of view. Here's my interpretation of the three modes: File mode provides a file by file copy of the DVD's structure -- VOB, IFO, and BUP files.

ISO mode produces a "DVD image" file of the bits on the disc, similar to the "CD image" files used when copying CDs. It's useful for copying DVDs when the source is small enough to fit on a burnable DVD.

IFO mode reads the IFO "information files" -- allowing you to extract a set of VOBS and an associated IFO that contain a single angle of a single program chain. In addition, one can extract individual streams such as soundtracks or subtitles, or one can limit the extraction to a single chapter, or even a single cell. For more on DVD files and structures, see http://www.doom9.org/dvd-structure.htm which is part of The Basics pages at www.doom9.org.
http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-53756.html

basically i never use IFO, mostly use ISO- and then use DAEMON tools to mount the ISO on my hard disk as a disc image (like inserting a DVD in the drive), sometimes i use file mode when i want just one individual VOB file.

ok, I tried reading but its not helping. I need a brief explination.
I have DVD decrypter and want to save a dvd to my harddrive. what mode to I set it on?
If I want to put it on my harddrive then compact it and burn to a cd using autogk, how do I open the file in autogk?
I set the dvd decrypter on file, then I clicked the dvd button. after it was done, I found the scenes stored on local c drive in my computer. I click on one to play it and it only plays that scene over and over again. How do I make them play in order?

if you want an exact copy of the DVD use ISO mode and then download and install DAEMON tools -- when dvd decrypter is done ripping youll be left with an image file -- after installing daemon tools youll have a new virtual cd/dvd drive that will show up in my computer. so after installing run daemon tools-- it will pop up in task bar-- right click - go to virtual cd rom-device 0- mount image and point it to the image that you ripped with dvd decrypter. it will then be as if you inserted the original dvd -- and when you are done just unmount it.

seriously though- ive learned all that i needed to know about encoding, ripping, decoding, transoding, divx, xvid, iso, etc... from that site. doom9.org-- check it out -- with some patience, read it, and youll figure it out.

edit: you can also burn the image to a blank disk with nero or a program like IMGBurn.

Download VLC player. Click file 'Open Directory' and go to the folder with the .vob files in it. If you're using vista and can't see any video, but can hear the audio then use this guide http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...r-under-vista/

Is that the same thing as autogk just a different kind?

I just want the easiest ripping software possible. I want to click to rip and it saves. and click to burn. Are there any like this?
I tried ripping the dvd in all IFO and ISO and file formats but couldnt get it to open on autogk.
