Similar to mine. (Back when mine was running, anyway...)

Ain't it strange that the delta between idle and full load is so small? (Especially on one of the cores)

Upped the vcore to 1.425 and bumped the FSB to 280. Running orthos with CPU at 2.8GHz. After 45 minutes, the load temps are the same as at 1.4v.

just lap it. you don't want to risk cracking or chipping the core.

I ended up doing both. First I lapped it and noticed a few °C drop on the higher temp core, then I removed the IHS a few days later and noticed a few more °C drop. Overall I got about a 10°C drop in temps. But now when the CPU is running orthos, the CPU only goes up to about 56°C under load at 2.8 GHz which is significantly lower then when it was lapped at 2.6GHz it would reach 61°C!

By the way the poll is still about 50/50! It looks like OCers are split down the middle on this.

With the IHS removed, I managed to get the CPU to run at 3.0GHz with 1.45v for just under 10 min. I went ahead and dropped it down to 2.8GHz at 1.40v because I didnt want to push the vcore any higher! It runs stable 6+ hours orthos.

All makes me think the temps are either being reported incorrectly or you room them is hot as

do you think you have the guts to lap your die like I did?
I'm sure you'll get more of a temp drop, but it is a very high risk.
If your thinking about doing it, pm me. I'll give you the instructions
