As long as your rig does what you need it for then that's all really. My rig in the sig is my gaming rig, BUT I use another rig even more often for net and photos (typing on it now ).

Now don't laugh but the specs are:
Athlon 900mhz
384mb PC100 ram
Gigabyte 71XE
Diamondtron Pro 750b (17" CRT)
Geforce 3 (Inno3D Ti200 I think)

This is my first PC and I upgraded parts such as the CPU from a 700mhz to the 900mhz. Had it for 7-8 years now.

Ignore those people who tell you that. I believe this doesn't belong in this forum. Totally off topic. More like a rave.

When your username is "iampoor", people will make fun of your rig.
Same as when your sig says you make useless topics, in those topics people will tell you.

No. Three years ago, your 3200+ was the best thing out. Is it future-proof for 3 years? No. Does it still run well? Very, as long as you don't play the very newest games.

How do I know? In the summer of 2004, I built myself a rig with a 3200+, a Radeon 9200 SE, and 512MB DDR. I know I skimped on the GPU, and Ilater upgraded the RAM to 1GB. It currently is one of my better servers, and therefore handles dedicated game servers, and at one point ran Vista RC2 without a problem. Yes, with Aero.

Dont sweat it. I'm 24 with a Master's in Mechanical Engineering.
My rig consists of a 3.4 GHz P4 650. Its OC'd to 3.8 GHz with a 908 FSB.
I have crap RAM and a ATI X700 512 MB when renders me a whopping 1044 3dMark score...

So even though I thought I was building a fast rig for Matlab and games.. The damn thing cant even benchmark over 1200 using 3dmark..

Should have kept my Dual Xeon Dell which was running 2 Xeons 3.06Ghz with SCSI drives and 2 GB Memory....
