Here, this is as high as it would go without rebooting in windows. It runs programs but... Halo says "the 161 Mhz processor is to slow" and Homeworld 2 runs in this weird super fast mode (interesting to play).

Add me too please

I first built my 478 system 4+ years ago now and it's still going strong.
If I had the cash to splash I would upgrade to a 775 socket but it's just not worth the money yet.

Wow i'm impressed Lab Rat what's your memory brand??

I recently found out that my sister's boyfriend has a 2.53ghz Northwood(?). Forgive me, the AMD user here (with a pos that won't oc....grrrr).
I was surprised as all hell how easily that thing overclocks...well, compared to mine...which has a serious fault somewhere. (Hangs in post between cpu check and device check...lovely.). I clocked his comp to 2.90 ghz with a 306 fsb, due to the locked multi (x19). He's using PC2700 ram non-Dual channel, can't remember how much exactly. Currently hits I believe 34 or so on idle, 50 degree load with stock HSF. Can't remember the voltage, but I raised the voltage and left it. Stable for 8+ hours in Prime 95. Not really stressing it; I know, but it is just a websurfer.

Heh, the old Nvidia 4200 Ti 4x AGP just got upgraded with a WORKING fan. The old one had died who knows how long ago. Was roasting itself at a nice and balmy 72 degrees C for an unknown length of time. HSF, and ram sinks installed, down to 32 degrees....Now hopefully it will last him for another few years of web surfing....unless I upgrade, hand him this box, and skulk away with it to turn it into a linux box......

I still have all the required components to create a beast of a s478 rig. I have the best overclocking mobo Abit IC7 max2, and a p4 3.2e. and make your choice of a 6800gt, 7800gs, or x1950pro for a video card. I hads my system up to 4.1ghz at insane voltage of 1.7volts. and I ran 3.85ghz everyday. it was stable and ran FAH for several years straight. Now I have moved on but I am about to upgrade my hard drives on my current rig and I may buy a case and cooler to create a backup rig or take it to work.

I never had a problem running high end games like oblivion at 1280x1024 at the highest settings. Still is a decent rigs by most peoples standards
