I got the E6600 and the batch is L713A. I did not see this on the sticky. Anyone else have one from the same batch.

Thats a very early week you have there. I've heard that the earlier A weeks did pretty well at overclocking so you may be in luck

closest is the one by "ginnz" from the week before. 3.5 he/she got but really needed a lot of juice compared to some of the immediately previous weeks.

either way you'd have to be very unfortunate not to get 3.2 or higher from it which is very respectable and not exactly slow

Update: I now have the speed at 3329mhz. 370X9. My temps on Orthos load is 42(asus probe) and 49(core temp .95). The vcore is around 1.408. Should i try to go higher? So far so stable. Mb temp is at 45C

Sure go a little higher...

O Btw, I've got almost the same one, but I think it's a little earlier than yours.

Note: It's L7. The L6 early weeks did extremely well, but the L7s just came out.

I have a L712A that ive been clocking on steady for the last week..... this morning i started to see how low i could go on core volts/NB/SB, and i have it at 1.45 vcore right now, running at 3.5 ghz, running orthos as i type..... i have to run my ram at 2.1v minimum at these sttings to get stability, but im fairly happy with the 1.45vcore.

last night i managed to post/boot windows at 3.8 with a vcore of 1.575, and run some benchies, and i noticed my temps at load hit 60c. Now, at this time, running orthos, my temps are at 57c with 1.45 vcore, so i dont see much of a difference with the higher vcore and the lower one... i figured my temps would drop by a fair bit by lowering my vcore so much, but that doesnt seem to be the case....

ill let orthos run for an hour or so, then start dropping the vcore a notch or two and retest, seeing how far i can drop it before i lose stability, ill repost my findings here in this thread later on....

you should have no problems running yours at 3.2 at all, and if you find it ortos stable, go for 3.5, or 3.6. just keep an eye on your temps, i dont have air cooling, so im not sure what youll be running into for temps, but as long as your ambient isnt too high, you should be alright.

what i suggest you try, is raise your fsb at stock vcore till you dont post, then notch up the vcore/fsb term volt/NB/SB a little at a time till it becomes stable, i found that by keeping my NB volts close to the Vcore, it runs better....

and, seing how i know this chip can do 3.8, im seriously considering getting a SS phase unit, to try and get 3.8- 4.0 24/7...... stepping it up a notch, you could say!

soo, ill take the wife and kid out for breakfast, and let orthos run till i get back, then start over again, at a lower vcore. till i cant run, hopefully i can acheive stability at a vcore a couple notches lower @3.5 ghz...and hpefully my temps drop a few degrees.

good luck, and please post your results.

Personally, I would sit on the OC for a few days to see how things pan out...but I am old and cautious... I spent about 2 weeks slowly increasing my clock speed(s).

So far you have done rather well.
