I think you should go with a P35 motherboard for futureproofing, and the P5K is relatively cheap and is getting great OC's.

New rig is finally built, thanks all for the wonderful and prompt help. Only other questions is.... besides driver updates.. mozilla firefox and getting windows xp SP2, what applications will help keep my computer handy quick and organized?

just looking for little application help. big time gamer, have experienced a blue screen twice in 2 days but it rebooted so fast i couldnt tell what the error was... also in both cod2 and counterstrike my game freezes. to a point where the sound locks whatever is coming out is stuck on that . and the video is frozen i cant control alt delete i have to reboot. Little annoying seeing as this is practicing brand new, minus the hard-drive/cd-rom. about 95 percent sure I plugged everything in correctly other than that my computer is fast and sharp

So true! Nowadays drives that are specialized (they *do* work considerably better than the normal counterparts) for RAID (like the WD RE drives) cost more =[

edit: Hm, you should check the manufacturer sites (nvidia.com is ok for the video card) for drivers and update as necessary.

This means checking for a BIOS update, too.
