That's pretty impressive. You might have to spend a bit more on a beefier power supply, but no big deal. If you know your stuff, you will be able to properly cool your case so everything runs in harmony. If you don't, then you will crai moer plxHELLO-IM-NEW-HOW-DO-I-FLASH-6200-TO-6800GT.

Just hoping for a card to take on the GTX.

8800 Ultra needs...
"525W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 37A or more."

and crossfire RECOMMENDED is 750W I think. Not a terribly big number since most people who want to would buy a 1TW PSU

Well atleast the 2900XT's can beat something for near the same price

EDIT: Oh man the threads supposed to be 2900XT
Inconsistently though. The X2900XT varies drastically in performance. That is my biggest concern.

If you have around $800 to spend on GPUs, it's better to get 2 2900's vice 1 Ultra. Unless of course you want to spend $1400 on GPUs.
But the X2900XT's would require a much beefier PSU better cooling, and specific motherboards that support CrossFire.

I think the best deal is a single 8800GTX or 2 GTX's in SLI. Anyone who buys the Ultra is a fool to me.

alright so get 2 x2900's THEN theres no place for a SECOND card like if you got an ULTRA and then you could add a second card and own

I only read the first 10 posts considering how no one mentioned this I wanted to die......

Its still sad. It takes 2 power hungry pieces of silicon to beat 1 single card.

BTW, An Ultra is about $600, 2 512MB = $400 each.

Ill take the Ultra any time.

Unless u want alot of monitors.

Also, to beat 2 SLI Ultra it would take 4 2900XT's if it were possible?

i think it's a little insulting to ATi to do a 2 vs 1 challenge like this. i feel bad for them.

You seem to be forgetting that the X2900XT is DESIGNED to compete against the GTS not an ULTRA so it's quite obvious it needs CF to out perform it.

We already know two ULTRA's would beat anything, because ATI hasn't release a competitor for the ULTRA yet.

With that said i don't know why you guys are complaining. If this kicks the ULTRAS ass by alot, most of you would be willing to jump off the fanboy wagon and purchase two. Most people who would buy an ULTRA would have a PSU big enough to support any card. So that isn't an issue.
