Go to Start menu -> Run -> CMD. Than type:

that doesnt work if your not the admin.
try logging in as just Administrator
-typed exactly like that- if its XP Home it doesnt ask you to assign a password to that account when you install-- so it might still be blank. and if its Pro, give it a shot anyway it way be blank. But anyway the Administrator account has higher privileges than an ordinary admin account- and for some reason Microsoft decided to release xp with this account built in--huge securuity flaw if you dont assign a password to it. --so anyway you can change any password logged in as that.
if it is passworded there is a method -- but a little complicated- download CIA commander boot it up - go to users (manager)- windows-unlock administrator-save administrator
(very important)--then hit F3 and change password-- then log into windows with new password-- create a new admin account-- then restart and go back into CIA commander -- load the original password --(user manager-- windows) -- reboot--log in using account you created earlier-- download program called SAMinside-- with it choose import local users using lsass-- then select the user that you want to know the password for and -- file-export selected user in PWUMP file-- save as something
.txt--open it up and select all-- then copy-- go to:
--then paste the hash use the lm algorithm-- and it should return the value pretty soon after.
