Best 32" HDTVs around ?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, right now I got a crappy Digistar 27" HDTV, 800:1 and I'd like to buy a new one soon, maybe around fall or maybe Christmas, but I'd like to know which HDTVs are good and what brand to look for, because I haven't really looked into that. I'd like to have a solid HDTV with the best bang for the buck, not a $3000 one but something that offers good performance for a good price.

Also, can I use PC monitors with VGA adapters to play on my Xbox360 ? Or TV ? Thanks in advance for your help.

There is a VGA cable that is made for the x360. I use it and it works great. as for decent brands i cant really say much as i am not very knowledgeable about HDTVs

well... i have a winbook....
not a name brand, but its spectacular. $500 at microcenter.
look to spend 5-650 on a good one.... RCA, LG, winbook, sanyo, and such are good tv's.
mine has VGA inputs, and they have DVI-HDMI cables you can also use to keep a digital signal...
go to walmart, and look at a bunch of em side by side...
but that price range knocks out all the super-crap, and the super-expensive... any questions just pm me

Thanks for the advice guys, but there has to be one that is really known for being a good tv, like the scepter 20.1", it's known to be a good deal for that kind of quality. I'm just looking for the best I can get, but I did like you said Dual when I first bought my TV, I went to Wal-Mart which was the only place that sold HDTVs at the time and I compared them since they were all playing the same thing and the one I got right now was the best looking for its price and size. I might buy online this time, so I can't really do that anymore.

Oh and thanks for the advice BountyHead, I might end up buying a good PC monitor and hook up me Xbox360 and my TV receiver on that.

Any other suggestions are needed and welcome !

Well I found this one and it looks pretty decent and it's cheap too ! I'll definitely bookmark it, thanks lot for you advices Dual. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm still open, I go to up to $1000 for a good TV so if you are an expert in HDTVs and know what kind of HDTV I should get for that price so that I get the best bang for the buck, please don't hesitate.

EDIT : I've just found these two TVs, one is a LG 32LC7D and the other is a Toshiba 32HL57, both are 32" and are the same price. Now, the LG's contrast ratio is 8,000:1 (Dynamic), 6,000:1 (True) compared to the Toshiba, which is 10,000:1 (Dynamic), 2000:1 (True). Now I don't know the difference between Dynamic and True but LG's TV seems to have a the highest True contrast ratio but the Toshiba has the highest Dynamic contrast ratio. Now I'm totally lost, is it better to have the highest Dynamic contrast ratio at the expense of True contrast ratio ? And which one of these do we use the most ?
