The Cool Quad: Is This Odd? - Page 4

Thats deffinetely the P35's doing. I was running almost at the 70's for a 3.0ghz overclock (1.45 Vcore) with my Arctic freezer Pro 7, 965PT, and E6300. Now with my new DS3R I am able to stay around 48 degrees max load with 1.38 Vcore 3.64ghz....I love you Intel for making such a chipset.

CD,

Try this bios: ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5K%20Deluxe/0501.zip

I usually check there FTP site because it gets updated much sooner than the web downloads do.

ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775

will take you to all the socket 775 boards

Alright now people are telling me my CPU score is way low on the 3DMark06.

I am scoring about 1.5K and people are saying it should be twice that.

I have no idea how to proceed.

I managed to successfully flash the latest BIOS and now have been able to OC the Q6600 to 3.5 without touching the voltages!

That in itself is a good sign that the board and CPU are happy working together.

Why in the world 3DMark06 is giving it such a low score I still would like to know...there has to be something I am missing.

The OC is stable--it FOlds perfectly with no error. It will run 24/7 at 44C...I dunno wh it is gaming soooo poorly.

you'll see way more than twice 1500pts with a 3.0+ q6600. more around the 5000pts mark. Seems like either 3 cores are not working or your board isn't recognizing all the cores.

I am shattered.

ANd I have no clue how to proceed.

It seems pretty clear that there is only one core functioning or showing up despite task manager's claims to the contrary.

ANy suggestions? I have already set everthing in BIOS to default and I have gone through ever option in Vista I can think of...

Have you tried uninstalling - restarting - then installing 3dmark06 again? I had to do that once whenever i was getting less than half my FPS when using SLI. I went as far as disabling one card and I showed a 20fps increase by using 1 card over SLI. But once I uninstalled 3dmark06, restarted, then installed it again - all was well.
