ive got the 256 ver like most on here, fairly descent card, just wont oc and isnt gonna be suitable for very much longer.even though its said to have a high HDR and aa tolerances, so if u do get one get 2 and an sli board. or just save ur money.

I just bought the exact same card to put into my P4 3.4ghz prescott.

I figured it's a decent card that I can use for now, and take it with me to a new system when I decide to get a dual-core in a year or so.

I was debating between this and the 7900GS.

I might go pick up a 7900GS just to compare the two, as right now I can't really offer much feedback I can tell you that its a lot better than my 6800 from my athlonXP system.

Overclocks very well man. you just need to download third party drivers to do so. I use DNA drivers with ati tray tools and i'm running at 634:770!!!! Give it a try.

Pros:
Not too old
DX9.0c
DDR3 512 Vram for large resolutions
Will run well with almost all games out now

Cons:
Not DX10
Not the fastest DX9 card
Expensive, more so than it should be.

My advice, get the X1950XT w/ 256mb Vram for $170 on newegg. You'll save a lot of $$ and your average gaming will be better.
