Very nice man! I'm surprised you get over 30 sec superPI

I get 29.5 sec when running but still...getting that OC stable is one hell of a job!

Good job...rep +

Hey shifty, That superpi time was before I tuned everything up. Now my ram is all nice and neat where I want it. It's Kingston 667 running at 887! Also the stock timings are 5-5-5-15 I have it running at 4-4-4-12. I can't believe this cheap ram O.C.'s like this! Anyway here is a screenie of my Pi time at 3.1 after some fine tuning. And yeah the ram made 3 passes in memtest before I shut it down.

nice overclock man....very nice...

Guys you should all pay attention to this post especially if you have a Brisbane CPU....

It's either PR1M3R spent the time to "Dial" in the ram to play nice **or** he got extremely lucky and the ram played nice with the settings the bios set it at which is not the case most of the time...

ALL Brisbanes WILL hit 3G's on stock vcore if the ram is set right in the secondaries.... The reason for this is the half multi's it goofs things from what we are used to....

anyone having issues with clocking look to the ram...the key sign is cpu voltage...if you have to up it to volt the memory controller into playing nice...

Yeah, it took me almost 3 weeks of messing with the ram to be able to get everything right. I was stuck at 2.9 for a long while due to temps. Today I go for 3.2! I don't think I have ever heard of a brisbane doing 3 on stock volts, but it might be possible. I will continue to tweak everything as I have not tried anything other than the 9.5 multi yet. 4 weeks of messin with 9.5 now I will spend 4 more messin with the 9 multi. Wish me luck!

edit oops, maybe start your own thread, i have just realized and now feel bad for the hijacking of this thread.
I take no offense to the so called "thread jack". Get and give the help when and where you can.

That kingston value rocks! I have a 1gb 667 stick with the same timings as you running @ 800! It's crazy that you're running 887 xD

I have actually had it running at 915 and passed memtest.

1.675 was not enough for 3.2

As far as too much volts go, as long as my temps are in check and everything id running fine, I dont really care about too much. I could have gone 1.7 for 3.2 but I did feel that a little too much. I don't know, I guess it's just by feel that I judge "too much" by.
This is a major mis-calculation. High voltages will kill your system much faster than high temperature. The effects will not be instantaneous, but a slow deterioration in transistor performance. It will take more and more voltage just to hold a minor overclock.

Very very nice! When I ran my 3.1ghz a while back it was with my HK's and was running it at 312mhz which was pretty slow...However I'm going to try again with my new reapers and see if I can keep the ram speed above 1000mhz and see how it performs
