Good MoBo combo... IDEAS????

Thread Starter
I am looking for a new MoBo/CPU combo on pricewatch. I don't do any gaming, just a lot of movies. I am thinking that I need at least a 2.5 GIG, and I like ASUS MoBos and Athlon or Celeron CPUs. Could anyone suggest a good combo for me? I just need the bare minimum to play video at a good quality. Links would be hepful (I don't feel like a dual core, so don't bother with crazy high end stuff).

Thanks in advance.

X2 3600+
ASUS M2N-X nF520
Maybe some G.Skill or Crucial DDR2-800
You won't be able to utilize more than 2GB well without Vista.

Well, here is the newest celeron, It is not 2.5 gig but it will smoke a regular celeron at 3.0 gig. And you did not specify a price limit or really any preferance on a motherboard so here is a good ASUS board.

I've also been hearing a lot about ATI. Is this some sort of plus for video? Do I need it?

so ATi is the brand. So, when I see on the pros and cons list that it doesnt come with ATI, it means the onboard vid is generic, correct?

walaby, i liked your setup. I didn't like the price of the other suggestion, however. What is RAID? I have heard it a lot, but what is it?
