Acer Aspire 5100 HELP! (scammed?)

Hello people, recently i purchased an acer laptop off Ebay. The specifications I purchased are as follows:

Model Aspire 5102 lmi

1 gig ddr2 ram
120 gig 4200 rpm hdd
Turion64-50 x2
radeon xpress 1100
8 cell battery

Upon opening the laptop I realized that the computer was telling me that I did not have these specs. The differences are as follows

Model Aspire 5100

512 ram
85.1 gig hdd Very strange number!
radeon xpress somthing (the next one down from 1100)

The odd thing is that there is a sticker for the 1100 so I have doubts that it is anything different. I do not know how to check to see if it has an eight or six cell battery so that may be different. I'm unclear of the model because it says aspire 5100 on the screen not 5102.

After some research I found this site http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3091

The site explains that some of the drivers are to new or something and cannot be read properly by the computer.

Any help with sorting this mess out is greatly appreciated.

Talk to the seller about it. If he says "Suck for you" get eBay on his case.

I know all about ebay and how it works I just posted here first to see if anyone knew anything about this model and the fact that it might not be able to recognize hardware that it actually does have.

The Ram issue seems to be that the video card gets a dedicated ammount given to it, so the video card is 512mb shared.

i have that exact same laptop and the video card shares 128mb of ram

you my friend got ripped off, the model he sent you is a aspire 5100 (or just plain 5102 if such a thing exists) which is the lower end model of the aspire 5102 wlmi which is what you thought you got

the graphics card thing isnt a big problem because its just a xpress 200m card but the drivers enhance the card making it an 1100 all you need are the updated drivers from the acer website to fix the graphics card issue

but i would recomend you try to get your money back, because the laptop that he sent you is not the 5102 wlmi
