It looks like a converted aquarium pump, which aren't terrible, but don't have a whole lot of head (or distance in which the pump can push water vertically).

That just means if you used that pump, you would want to keep your loop quick and to the point. CPU-Only loops with a non-restrictive rad and waterblock.

Yeah, that's typical of those pumps. Which is cool, it would work great, but if you were using a Switech Storm, I would advise against using it because that waterblock is like a kink in the tubing to pumps with little head.

You can find the Via 1300 cheaper if you search some more. The pump is good for a low cost system. The pump does have a large heat dump though.

Here's a mod to make it quieter as well: http://www.wc101.com/guides/ViaAqua
Once again...

With a good rad he shouldn't have too much problems with the heat dump though, correct?

not if the rad is mounted right before the CPU block.
Well, like this he shouldn't have a problem:

Pump > Rad > CPU > Res > Pump

The rad should take out any of the extra heat the pump dumps in the loop before the water hits the CPU.

If you can afford a better pump get one , I just picked up a D4 for $40 shipped and I sold an aquaxtreme 50z for $50 shipped a while ago

Make friends online and see if people can hook you up

Look around , make offers
