Oldschool P4 OCing 2.2Ghz to 3.2Ghz on air - Page 4

Thread Starter
Will upping the FSB also contribute to NSDS? Or just VCORE?

and uhh...can i run an overnight Orthos on it? Or will that contribute to NSDS too?

Suddenly im pretty scared to push this processor

EDIT: Ok ive read up a lil more on it and it seems that just vcore > 1.7 contributes to NSDS.. I guess ill push this as far as i can and keep the vcore below 1.65

Just vcore...FSB won't hurt a thing.

Just keep vcore under 1.7v and you'll be fine.

(BTW, if you can score one of those boards relatively cheap...let me know...I might be interested. )
2 OP pls nerf

I don't think you'll be able to push it much more although

Seeing as none of the FSB400 Northwood's had HyperThreading you may aswell just run SuperPrime2004. Orthos is basically two instances of SuperPrime2004 which is needed to stress HT capable and Dual Core CPU's and seeing as your CPU is single threaded there's no need to run Orthos. As for stress testing contributeing to instant CPU failure, this won't happen. Too much vCore and poor cooling are the main factors that will damage or destroy a CPU.

Respectable overclock by the way, 1Ghz more is nothing to be sniffed at, especially on air.
