XFX 8800 GTS 320 SLi question

Thread Starter
I bought my XFX 8800 some time back and its running quite well. I don't really plan on running it in SLi yet but I was just wondering if I was supposed to get some sort of connection device to connect the two cards. I got nothing of the sort in the packing, just the card, one flimsy pamphlet, GRAW and the drivers. Of course the DVI to VGA plugs were there and the S-Video thing. Just want to know in case i was gypped. I remember an old review i once saw, some sort of bridge thing was required to connect the two.

If you get an SLI-capable motherboard, the SLI bridge comes with it.

Really there is no point in SLI'ing those cards. Their V-Ram is so low you will only see an increase of about 10% in fps. You should only SLI/Crossfire card with v-ram more then 512mb. So my advice don't even bother

Okay great now I know. Wasn't going to SLi it anyway but just curious. This is my first GPU after the good old intel i740 (8MB). Really emptied the coffers to buy it. I'm a casual gamer so its should suffice for a year or two. Thanks for the help.

Thats simply not true.

Though the performance of a GTS 8800 320mb in SLi does vary depending on the game & resolution, you can see in this chart (even at high res) 2 x 320mb cards beat a single 8800 GTX 768 MB
