3D model, water cooling case - Page 6

Can anyone help me with the fans on this design, there are going to be around 8-10 fans and they all need to be Clear unclutered designs with either red or blue leds (depends on my eventual colour coordination)

all the wires here are going to be ghosted and perpendicularely mounted in the case.
Anyway my question is this, I need this computer to be very silent and so 8-10 fans will be niosey unless i buy 1000-1200rpm models, but i can only find the fans i want that spin at 2000rpm or around 30db, (i need close to 20db)

Can anyone advise as to a tidy solution to getting the fans daisy chained and running 7.5 volts instead of 12 to bring the rpm down (especially on the 6 rad fans).

use the fans to pull air through the radiator...then all your wires should end up between the fans and the radiator...not on the outside.

i am gonna make a "how to 5v your fans" thread pretty soon. right now i just dont know where to put it. i guess i'll put it in the case modding forum.

i know i know, there is already two "how to 5v your fan" threads but one of them is so complicated, you could poop your panties, and the second one focuses on a different method. my goal on this one is to be as simple and as picture-filled as possible. so easy a caveman could do it

Ok guys i need your advice again, I was going to use 5mm acrylic all round with a 10mm base peice, but thingking about it 5mm is a little thin and might be a little flexy,
I can use 10mm stuff but its like £50 or $100 for a 1000mm/500mm part, and i would need a few of them >.<

Any advice?

5mm acrylic isn't too bad as long as the span is under 50cm...

If it gets longer, then it can always be supplemented with acrylic or aluminium spars.

Also remember that there will be a shearing (sp?) force stability added to the structure by the walls. This will help the structures stability.

Consider the combined weight of your hardware and the components that will cool it. With todays large HSF's weight becomes a factor...

I hear your having trouble sourcing parts?

Recently, I've found WatercoolingUK (who you have in your list anyway) and if you contact the owner he may be able to order parts from AcRyan for you along with the shipments. Alternatively, KustomPCs sell AcRyan and general modding parts, but are normally expensive, while SpecialTech sell many modding parts and are normally well priced

For acrylic, you don't need to spend that much....

10mm x 1000mm x 600mm - £27

[url=http://www.hindleys.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=7_57_60_61_62_67&products_i d=1474]5mm x 1000mm x 600mm - £13

What you might notice is that they don't give you an exact shipping cost - they use £6.50 as a ballpark figure, but say it could go up or down after you've ordered.

I got in touch with them, and for one 8 foot length of aluminium angle and a sheet of acrylic it would cost £11, or £6.50 if they cut it in half: looks like they do it by box sizes rather than by weight
