Need Help?? What's wrong with my temp??

Thread Starter
Seeing all of your posts about temp I feel inferior

My room temperature is around 27*-29*C

My CPU Idle at 45-46 C, Full Load 60-61 C

CPU Cooling Arctic Cooling Freezer 64

Case Fan 1 x stock 80mm (exhaust) @ back panel,
1 x TT 80mm @4200 rpm around 70 cfm, 1 x 120 mm @ side panel

I have updated my ABIT KN9 Ultra bios to the latest, so I don't think it's the sensors

is there something I did wrong???

Please help

Case Sonic Gear Power Logic Atrix

2 side fan blowing in
1 back fan blowing out

I still have space for 1 120mm fan in front and 1 80mm fan at the top of my case

and you have a fan in your PSU too...

you have an 80mm and a 120mm on the side blowing in? have you tried moving that 80mm to the top blowing out?

i'd get a fan for every hole you have in your case...

Check to make sure the lever on the cooler is all the way down and that the clip is properly seated on the base as shown below.

If you can, increasing the size can be a great advantage. Id does require disassembly and cutting out the holes to accomidate larger fans but its worht it!

ambient temp is a variable you should consider... if it's cold and you have poor case air flow... your system will be hot...

if it's warm... and you have Good case air flow... your system will be hot...

if it's warm... and you have Great case air flow... you system will be warm...

i have insane airflow... and my case temp is normally 3-4F over room temp... with the cpu at idle 10-12F over room temp... at full load... about 130F with a room temp of 70F

Thx guys

I'll check with the heatsink installation 1st
Buy another 2 fan
Maybe adding more hole for more fan if another 2 still won't help
And if all still won't do, I'll post again

n Line thx a lot for the ambient temp info.

Yes.

Someone did a test and write-up (I can't remember which forum; maybe even someone here on OCN?) and found that with every degree Celsius rise in ambient temperature, you get 2 degrees increase in CPU temperature readings.

Also, more on point with your original question, I think your CPU cooler (Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro) isn't good enough to cool an overclocked dual-core CPU. I used to run this cooler on an X2 4400+ (S939), and out of the box it was not good enough.

Some people suggest that lapping the AC Freezer 64 Pro then adding a more powerful fan (a 92mm Vantec Tornado) would make it work better, but I've never done this myself and so can't attest to its effectiveness. It's a good concept, though, and can't imagine why it won't work.

Anyway, you've already got some ideas here to improve your cooling performance.

Good luck, and hope this helps!
