Small temp change normal?

Thread Starter
I have been building computers for a while now, but this is the first one I built for me. First off, what do you think, I didn't have enough $$$ right now for an 8800, but wanted to utilize SLI anyway. Anyway, I am new to temp monitoring since this is my first personal build and am wondering if that small of a temp change is normal

Idle: 29C-31C
Load: 35C-38C

thats fine as full load is constantly changing.

Thanks, but shouldn't my idle be much lower with the type of cooling I have?

What are your ambient temps like? Those have a lot to do with the temp your cpu idles at.

First off, that computer is amazing and by the sounds of it you are already working on upgrading the GPU.

Second of all, what temp monitor are you using to acquire these readings?

My Ambient temps are around 26C to 28C. So now I pretty much understand my idle temps, but then why aren't my load temps higher?

Also, what do you all think of my first personal build?

No, not normal. Those temps are crazy low. You're only on air, so those idle temps are normal. Besides, it's the load temps that really matter. What are you using to create the full load and what are you using to read the temps?

I am using Probe II, Speedfan, and Core Temp, and they all show similar core temps. They are the only ones that sufficiently work with Vista 64

CoreTemp readings are accurate so you are good. But I think that you aren't simulating the 100% load correctly. What are you using to create the load?
You should use Orthos to stress the CPU and read the temps after 5-10 minutes of it running.
