Small temp change normal? - Page 2

CoreTemp and Speedfan have been putting out the correct figures for C2D as of late. So i see no reason to not trust em.

So i pretty much think your temps are amazing.

Does Orthos work with Vista?
Use Orthos. Found here

If not then try Prime95. You will need to run two instances. One for each core.
Found here

I'm not sure if either or both work with Vista. Anyone confirm?

Regardless of Orthos or Prime95, do you think I'm ok? Running Shadowrun one one monitor on all highs and watching a dvd on the other, with many background utilities and never hit 40C.

Not sure what's Shadowrun. A game? If it's stable for you it's fine. But what you really need to do is use Orthos (or Prime95) to stress the CPU to find the load temps (and to test stability by running either of the two utilities for hours).

Shadowrun is a game that requires a 5.0 Experience Index or higher and Vista, I think it does a pretty good job of giving my system a workout.

So what can I expect my "official" load temps to be based on my 29C-31C Idles?

And also, I heard that the temps get even lower after the 200 hour waiting period. Is this true?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Correct me if I'm wrong. Check the % your CPU is running at. You need programs like Orthos/Prime95 to simulate 100% load. However, I think these are never really reach in real life apps. So if you're stable doing whatever you do, you're basically fine.

Sounds good, thanks! I think I'll try to use Orthos in administrator mode when I get home to get it to work, I wanna figure out my "official" load.
