DVI out on my x1900 to my HDMI 1080i Widescreen, How?

I have DVI out on my video card, and HDMI input on my tv. If I grabbed this cable,

Would I be able to run at full hi def on my tv? Would it be clear? And what settings should I have it set to so it transmits 1080i to my tv? I will hook up audio through my soundcard and 3.5mm to RCA cable, so that's not a problem.

Is it a CRT or a LCD TV? I had an X1900GT hooked up to a Sony 34in 1080i CRT TV, and when I set it to 1080i resolution, it looked all fuzzy and grainy.

But if it is a LCD, I think it will work well.

I think you should be fine.

I use my 1080i Sony WEGA with my PC sometimes. However, I use the VGA port.
Teh PC!

It's a CRT from toshiba, what cables did you use to set it up? I had that happen when I used my svideo cables, looked like crap because it was at 480/640 or whatever that resolution is.

Shouldn't it be fine at 1080i @ 60 refresh rate?

My TV has DVI input, so I just used that, but the HDMI to DVI cable would work fine.

It should be fine at 1080i, but it may be a bit flickery, kinda like an old CRT monitor, but you don't notice it when you are playing a game or watching a movie.

Cool, I'll get the cables. I've run a xbox360 and a ps3 off this screen in 1080i and never had a problem. The cables should run fine no? If they do, awesome htpc for me
