New Guts!

Well, I came home from work today to hear my PC in an endless beeping loop

Seems theres a processor error. According to Intel's site, 7 Beeps indicates the CPU has taken a turn for the worst.. Don't understand it, it ran @ 37C idle and 47 Full load with a Zaleman.. Ohh well, it was a single core anyway..

So, I have to replace the CPU and I mind as well get a new Mobo as well and also, since my GPU is a pile of crap, a new one as well.

Looking to spend about $500-600.

Hoping to get some advice from some experienced people.
I'm pretty set on the Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Conroe 2.13GHz CPU. Not to sure about the remaining two.

Here, this is what I'd do with that budget and if the E6420 is the CPU you want.

CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115016

Mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128050

GPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130082

O yea, another question. Do you have DDR2 memory already?

Comes out to $595.98 before shipping and rebates.

Spot on, exactly what you need if you have RAM.

Do you need a new PSU?
If you had an old system it might be a factor you need to consider.

Yeah, I have 2GB of 3200.. Not the fastest, but I'll upgrade that in a week or two. Thanks again for the quick reply. Already ordered it!

The Zalman CNPS9700 NT should fit this combo right?

the only other PSU I have belongs to a Dell Presision 650 with Dual 3.06 GHz HT Xeons, the Connector wont even come close to my Intel Mobo unfortunately. Thats the first thing I thought, but screw it. I've been wanting to upgrade for a while now. So, this may be a good thing:+)
