Very Slow Raid 0

Thread Starter
Hello, I'm new to using RAID so I decided to gve RAID 0 a shot since many people keep telling me its soo fast. When I tried benchmarking it with HD tune, it showed up slower than one of my single SATA drives not in raid mode :S. I have no Idea whats wrong !!

I am using 2 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB SATA2 3GB/S 7200RPM 16MB Cache NCQ Hard Drives in RAID 0 with 64K block size.

thx for reading any help is greatly appreciated .

Doesn't RAID0 combine the 2 HDs? So you would have 640mb with two 320s?

It is 640 GB (the picture quality is not too good ) and I am using the Gigabyte Raid controller which is JMicron GBB36X Controller. I got all up to date drivers from gigabyte's website.

I have had a similar problem before with Raid 0 on my DS3.
The problem seems to be the newest driver for the JMicron raid controller on the gigabyte site for the DS3.

I solved my problem by instead of going to p965 ds3 rev.... download section, I went to DQ6, and download the SATA II driver from there. The two boards uses the same JMicron controllers, but it just seems that for DS3 only, gigabyte posted a corrupted driver, especially for vista.
