Quick review of my new toy... HP w2007 20" widescreen LCD

Thread Starter
So I just bought the GF a new laptop at Circuit City, and as I was walking by the displays section I saw this little gem on sale for $259.00- the GF can't get a new computer toy unless I get a new computer toy so:

I am not too awesome with a camera so these pics don't truly represent the extreme sexiness of the display but I'm sure you can at least see how sharp it looks wall mounted... I got the mount on ebay for $30 or something a while back.

So I was quite happy with the Viewsonic that this replaced, but once I saw this in the store I had to have it. I used to own a 205BW which is a more expensive display, or at least was at the time I bought it, and this one absolutely blows it out of the water... no contest whatsoever. Colors are deeper/more vivid, backlighting is more even, pixels are sharper, menu is easier to use, and it looks better to boot.

At work I also have access to 23" and 20" Apple Cinemas, Dell 24"&20", Sony 19", Samsung 19", and several others. I would take this display ANY DAY over any of them. There is just no comparison, and what is even more impressive is that it cost less than all of them. I am NEVER going back to an anti-glare screen after owning this. Glossy FTW.

All I can say is congrats to HP on an awesome product... I haven't felt this confident in my satisfaction with a purchase for quite some time!

If you are in the market for a widescreen I would consider this before any others... seriously.

Glossy does rule! I told my cousin to buy that when I was building her computer. I'll definitely buy it when I have the cash for it.

What does glossy do, provide deeper colors? I was considering glossy for my new screen but I have glare problems with my current normal LCD.

I also have the hp w2007 and I have yet to see any samsung or viewsonic LCD (Viewsonic CRTs are still better color-wise) match the color of the hp screen. And 5ms is certainly nothing to sneeze at

I've been looking at those for a while, now. Got 2 Samsung 20.1's for the wife's rig. They've very nice, but nowhere near as nice as those HP's! Very nice purchase.
