so ive been having problems lately. I see little dots all over the screen in different colors so i thought it was a driver issue i downloaded the updated drivers installed and it rebooted but never booted to windows. Got the blue screen saying something about a driver issue. SO noww it will only boot into safe mode where its still all messed up, i reformated and installed vista agaim and it is still all messed up with the colored dots and it wont boot to windows normaly. The computer is running, but there is nothing on the screen. any ideas before i throw it out the window?

O another thing i notices is that my bios screen that shows my raid aray as being what it is and healthy ect. some letters are different olors, some words are misspelled, and there are capital letters... where there shouldnt be?

sounds like either its getting too hot, its been overclocked too high, or maybe one of the memory chips is going bad.

That is exactly what happened to my 7900GT, it was stable as stable can be in ATI Tool. Ran it for 6months fine, and suddenly coloured blocks would appear in the Bios and some games namely FEAR would show some distorted textures/objects.

Basically the 7xxx series had dodgy RAMDACS, and when pushed they eventually started to show signs of defectivness. This is why i don't overclock GPU's anymore. It's simply not worth it.

Also, continuing on from the same subject. Recently ppl that bought the XFX 8800GTX Ultra XXX edition have been getting artifacts after a few weeks of use.

In all my experience i discovered that overclocking of any form of memory is a bad idea, it may be stable but eventually it will die. It's not like CPU's or Processor Cores, they can tolerate it, memory is far more volatile.

Memory is certainly more sensitive to OCing. However, not overclocking a GFX card sounds like insanity to me. AT LEAST do the core.
