Help with my new computer

Thread Starter
Hey
I just built my first computer and i have a question about the CPU and RAM running at the same FSB

My 2.13hz core duo CPU runs at 1066Mhz where as my 2Gb dual channel RAM runs at 1000 Mhz

when the computer loads up it says the ram is only 800Mhz
Can i overclock my Ram to Run at 1066Mhz?

Thanks

if your FSB is 266 (default) the ram is multiplied by 3 = 800 (798 exactly but basically 800).

as you have 1000MHz ram you'd need to have the multiplier at 4.

however it's easier and more sensible to overclock the processor and keep the ram x3

try FSB 333 x8 (your CPU multiplier is 8) = 2664MHz
RAM 333 x3 = 999 (basically 1000)

make sure you have stuff like C1E/EIST turned OFF in your bios first
