Parts Ordered!

This is my first build, so naturally I'm tremendously excited!!!

Monitor: Ben-Q 20" Widescreen
Case: Antec Nine Hundred
Mobo: Gigabyte 965P-DS3 Rev. 3.3
Processor: Intel E6420
PSU: Corsair 520HX
RAM: Geil 2x1Gb (orange heat spreader)
GPU: eVGA 8800GTS 640mb
CPU Cooler: Tuniq Tower 120
Fans: 2x Silverstone FN121
Including HDD, Optical, Mouse/pad, AS 5, USB PCI add-on card

Came out to $1493.65 shipped from various online sellers. Thanks for all the help you guys have given me and others. It's helped tons in making decisions. Yes, I decided not to wait another 7 days to order the processor. I didn't feel that the price cuts/newly released chips would make too much of a difference for me in the grand scheme of things.

I'll get pictures up as parts arrive and stuff.

Did you forget the OS?

I want your CPU and Tuniq, NOW!

First build... Have fun! My rig is my first build. I sat for 5 hours being slowly and careful. >_> Now I eat with sodas laying around the case when it's open, lol.

I was lucky enough that my school is part of the MSDNAA (Academic Alliance). So they offer me free development software. It's pretty nice.

The school is Oregon Institute of Technology.

I have your monitor, and in all honestly it kinda stinks. I mean its not terrible, but the black levels completely suck. Watching a dark movie is just too much sometimes.

Nice setup overall. Only thing I might change would have been the mobo. Yes I have the same one but there were things I didn't know about it when I bought it. Firstly it does not support SLI or firewire. Also if you plan on using the onboard audio please note that it will not output a 5.1 signal over the SPDIF output. I spent days trying to get the digital audio to output on 5.1 surround through my home theater system only to find out that dolby digital 5.1 is not supported over SPDIF. The only way to get multi channel audio on this is by using the analog connections. I had to spend an extra 100 bucks on a Sondigo Inferno, which should be coming this week sometime. And lastly it would have been nice to see a heatpipe cooling solution for the NB cooling.

All things considered the DS3 is a budget board so I guess you can't complain at that price point. Everything else you got looks to be top notch though.
