Maybe get some hinges and some of those door-stoppers that you can adjust, that would actually be pretty easy.
This is exactly what I was thinking. But it would be real difficult to make it clean and professional looking.

It's really not too difficult to configure your speakers correctly ... as someone said, if you don't have a wall behind you to mount the speakers, you can just get some inexpensive stands.

For the rear speakers, I just used drywall mounts to hang them behind me.

Here's what my setup look like:

All satellites are approx. 3-4 feet from me. Sounds fantastic.

I think it might even sound better if they were just a bit more spread out, but it's sufficient.

Get yourself a wire coat hanger and snip it in half. Now bend one end into and L shape and the other into a U shape on each half. push the L shaped end through the ceiling (it's pretty easy) and hook the U shaped end into the speakers. Now use tiny thumbtacks to secure your wires across the ceiling.

I don't have a shot of them hanging from the ceiling but here's another idea. Hehe it's actually not bad that way but I didn't like my chari wired down that much, the nostromo is bad enough.

hmmm, well, this is a CRAZY idea.but if you want to have 5.1 surround in your room then id suggest mounting the speakers in the walls, having only a thin layer of soupsingly cloth coating with the wall paint on them, would give a heck of an effect for people who haven't been you your house before.....sound without speakers!weeeeee
might seem impractical, but when do you actually touch your speakers?every 5.1 system as far as i know has a seperate volume controller, but this would require some wall bashing, soo idk :S:S:S:S

Interesting idea... Something I would consider doing with my main sound system.

well, wouldnt be too much work, but would seirously have an amazing effect,i know this because one of my bro's friend's did that, took him 1 week lol he is slow.
but when you come in to a room that sounds and you dont see the sound source,it is serious pwnage !! :S
and it shouldnt be ALL that hard, unless the place's you want to put your speaker's in the wall have wires running through them (hence near switch's etc)
also, this will resonate the walls, soo if you DO that be sure not to put any bass music that could shake your wall's apart. :S:S:S
+ if possible putting the subwuffer under or IN your chair would be a nice addition, but go consult the doctor before doing that :S as for a sub wuffer can cause some cardio problems
this i seen done in a HOME remake reality show, where they stuck 3 sub wuffers under the couch from the tv for the ultimate explosions :S:S:S
