the HD-DVD wouldn't sell that great even if it was in 360's now. If it was in it from the start, i fear the HD-DVD would be in the lead right now. Now that blockbuster/walmart and many other stores have endorsed only Blu-ray next gen discs, it looks like the war is over.

I personally like the 360 just because the games available are the ones i like and the online play is even better than the computer (just my opinion)
But i think the while the 360 and the ps3 are fighting it out the Wii is kicking both there a**. I play it and i don't understand why but it is..
It hasn't caught up with the 360 yet but going to soon.

That's because microsoft is smart ! If HD-DVD loses the format war, they don't have a useless HD-DVD drive in their console, and they can release a separated Blu-Ray drive for the Xbox360, thus making more money and not having the burden of HD-DVD on their console.

The way you worded that it reads:

3 DVDs > 1 BD
10 DVDs < 1 BD

I can't help it if you are only able to form unintelligible equivocating garbage sentences .

Taken in context your original post was a response to Pauldovi's post,

Whats the difference between PS3 exclusive games "forcing" you to get a PS3 and a PS3 "forcing" you to get a BluRay player?

Perhaps the issue is with the games? Maybe you should take up gripe with the publishers and demands a Xbox360 or PC version?
I understand what you were alluding to, but unfortunately unsubstantiated numbers pulled out from a place where light has difficulty shining tend obfuscate the debate at hand.

Blu-ray replication costs Plant #2 (Blu-ray only)
I received quotes on Blu-ray single layer (25GB) replication at plant #2 between $1.35-$1.45 USD per disc on runs of 25K or more. Blu-ray DL (50GB) was quoted between $2.15 - $2.25 per disc on a 25,000 quantity run. Taking the high end on this range, this translates to approximately $0.045 per GB for Blu-ray DL media.

BD movies are not even three times the cost DVDs, let alone 10x... Also consider what blank DVD media(notice how I use specificity) cost when it was initially released? I remember the prices were excessively steep. Another thing to consider is the sheer volume a BD disk offers over a standard DVD roughly 5x the storage capacity.

Sony was thinking long term, and leaving off the BD player would not have been forward-looking. In time as there are more BD production lines and costs of switching production lines have been offset prices should drop significantly... Just as they have with every other major format.

I'm probably gonna get the Elite then when the price drops. I dont' play many console games, but it's nice to have...people come over...great for parties and get togethers...
I dono though...might wait until the 65nm one...unless they have fixed it mostly now...

*shrugs* 3 year warranty for free is full of win anyways.
