Did you use driver cleaner pro? Also, remove your oc and retest your system. Sometimes, an oc will "degrade" with time and you must adjust accordingly in bios. But absolutely check with oc removed before pointing a finger at hardware. Good luck.

EDIT: By the way, if at stock you reboot, I don't think a new fan will help. Fix the issue before you change anything else. Do you have another gpu to test in the rig?

Well, let me be the first to say that this PSU is suspect.
http://www.qtec.info/products/product.htm?artnr=14513

I even went so far as to download their 'manual' and it WOULD NOT LIST the PSU's stats. How many amps will it run on the 12V rail? How much did it cost?

max amps on the +12V is 16A.
the psu was about €60.
i also just fitted in a ZALMAN FATAL1TY FC-ZV9 on the x1900 but i didnt get a chance to test it yet. though the idle temp went down about 10 degrees

ok so i've let the atitool display that 3d cube and when the temp got to exactly 90, bang - reboot.
windows says its a hardware error maybe the card is screwed but i dont see how i rarely use to its max extent.
the current GPU power draw was 35.5A was that a little high or thats fine such a card?

Its sound like a PSU problem since you only have 16A on your 12V line which is really low which can be the culprit for random reboots. Ati recommend that the X19xx series get at least 30A for normal operation.

i tried running hitman blood money just there and it worked fine for about 10 mins then it just quit to the desktop.
i'm also looking for an x1900 crossfire edition to run it alongside my x1900xtx.
i know i would need a better PSU anyway so i might as well buy that too. any recommendations for a nice crossfire PSU?
this would be really annoying if i get the crossfire setup going and it still crashes.

Since you cant buy stuff from newegg.com because you live in Ireland. I would recommend brands like Silverstone, Antec, Cosair, Xclio, Ultra, OCZ, Zippy, Thermaltake, etc. Get power supply with 42A or high on 12v line since ATI recommend a PSU with 38A or higher, the more the better. Dont judge a PSU by its wattage.

how about this PSU:

http://www.thermaltake.com/product/P...0117/w0117.asp

should be okay for 2 x x1900s right?

Go with a single rail design that puts out decent amps. Single rail psu's are actually built better (the one rail running all those amps demands better internal components) and you don't loose amps when they are not used. Good luck.

one more error i just got from the graphics card was VPU recover telling me that the display driver needed to reset the graphics processor because it wasnt responding to anymore commands. thats pretty much the graphics card's fault.
its weird, if i play games like half life 2 with max settings i can play no problem but when i try tomb raider anniversary (even with low settings) it works for 1-5 mins and then reboot.
