It really depends on your sound set up. If you have cheap speakers, then an expensive sound card is wasted really. Even one of the old creative cards such as the Audigy 4's or Audigy 2's sound good also.
Just because it's name is ExtremeMusic, I assume it works just as well with games?
Don't pay attention to that, it can do everything that the ExtremeGamer can do and more. Most importantly, if you're decent with a soldering iron, you can mod it
either one would be an excellent choice, you could get an extreme music from amazon for about 85.99 brand new. i on the other hand have the xtremegamer and love it! No problems and paired with my icemat siberia's games/music/movies sound great especially those with EAX and XFI support!(games that is)

ah
Xtreme audio didn't use the same amps and the same configuration as the rest X-fi.
Xtreme gamer performs ok... but it lacks entertainment features as it's not good for music and movies, and it doesn't came with optical and coax input.
buy Xtreme music and beyond.
it will give u a great boost on audio quality.. but (pardon me) your headphone is not very good at music and movie.
Hm well I don't watch movies on my computer really, so I guess that's not a concern. I guess I'll go with XtremeMusic . thanks!
Excellent choice mate! Excellent!
