Best Cooling System - Page 2

Before you spend money on a new HSF or fans, it would probably be best to try pow3rtr1p's dusting idea and some cable management to make sure you've got good airflow in your case.

If that doesn't do the trick, then try the Tuniq Tower or Thermalright (people around here love them so they've gotta be good...)

GeminII is cheap and awesome. works great with silent fans too.

Would a cheap power supply be heating up the case at all? My real power supply arrived defective, so its in the process of being shipped, but in the mean time i bought a $50 one and feels hot on the back, just thought it could be the issue. Would it cause a heating problem?

Does your power supply have a fan blowing out the back? If not, that could be part of it.

as long as the hot air goes out the back there isnt much to worry about.

I mean not only is there hot air, but the power supply is much warmer then the other ones in my house to the touch, still may not make a difference, but one can only hope. There is also no fan on the back of this power supply, does anyone else think this could be the problem?

you could wait 'till your main one is back. then see if temps go down.

Im using a zalman 9500 with my pd overclocked to 4.5ghz and my load temps are 55-60c and i have a much hotter chip then you maybe your zalman 9700 is concave and not getting good contact or your not getting the as5 on just right.
