Friend's upgrade..!

Thread Starter
Hey everyone, a friend of mine has an AMD Venice 3500+,
and uses right now 2x512MB memory modules, twinmos 512MB DDR400.
He has an easy chance to buy 2 more, but they are 2x512MB kingston DDR400 used. Would they work ok whith his rig?
Twinmos have a cl3 latensy i think and the kingston have a cl2.5..
Should he take em?

Probably be a good idea...but the faster ram will slow down to the slower ram. So the Kingston will actually have a CL of 3 as well...but no big difference there.

They'll work. But they'll all run at the lowest speeds/timings of the two sets.

what he said, the stick will make themselves even. Just get the kingston and you will have 2gb (4x512) of ddr400 cl3 ram

Will the frequency be affected or just the timings?

They're both DDR400 so the speeds will be fine, just the timings.
