Well in response, I've never run a raid, but I'm sure you wonderful folks could help me with that. I kinda doubt that I am going to find that same model and make 80gb hard drive though and I don't really want to buy another IDE drive if I don't have to. Thanks for the suggestion though ratty.

I figure if I get a raptor on ebay it'll atleast have part of the 5yr warrenty left on it. That's some consolation to me atleast. What are everyone elses thoughts on ebay though, and on the memory?

Thanks for the input so far guys, you almost have me convinced.

I didn't mean anything like the looking for traces in itself, i just dont like the idea of something like a hard drive being bought off there for some reason, i dont know why.

I'm glad yours is all good and performing well, but that doesn't make every used hd on ebay fine and dandy.

he only has $100 to spend and want to see him spend it wisely and safely, without him wishing he'd spent it differently.

2 of these for $86

Im not trying to force you to go raid, just showing you the possibilities, either way, new storage is the way to go.

Hmmm the only thing I would have to figure out is where I am going to plug them in on the board. I have 4 SATA connections but 2 of them cause data corruption when the FSB is over 240 or so on this DFI NF3 250Gb. That is cheap though I'll give you that!
