Looking to buy a tablet PC

Thread Starter
I have never used a tablet pc so I am kind of confused on which one I should be looking at. I am pretty sure I want one with a 14 inch screen since I will also use it as a desktop replacement.

I want one with the following specs

Core Duo , or Core Duo 2 ( whats the difference here )
14" screen
2Gb ram
7200rpm HD
Graphics that can fun Vista interface without a problem.
Pressure sensitive capabilities when I am writing.

Does anyone know any good models I should be looking at? My budge is around or under $1000 and I want to buy one used or new with a warranty.

Thanks for the help.

"At or under $1000" and you seriously expect to get everything you want?! good luck!!!

Maybe a laptop, yes, but tabletPC's are more expensive. I'd say you could get one for ~$1300 if you sniffed out a deal. Otherwise just get a C2D lappy for ~$1k

Core Duo is old tech. (still dual core) like the Pentium D of laptops. A 2GHz Core 2 Duo is around twice as fast as a 2GHz Core Duo, both are dual core

Toshiba, Averatec, and HP are good brands which specialize in tablets. (meaning they have more than anyone else)

I have seen some on ebay with those specs go for $900-$1300 before so I know I can get one around that price.
