bought Vista upgrade, can I use it?

I was planning to install XP from a dell CD. I've done this before and it will work for 30 days before it makes you register, then I was going to install vista over the top of it after it was installed. However, that other computer was also another Dell, and the new computer will be a custom build.

So, will I be able to load the dell XP on a new hard drive, and then install Vista, even though the XP will never be registered? Just wondering if anyone has done it. Seems like it should work fine.

Yes it should work.

Nevaziah has had first hand experience. So it should.

However if it is un-registered you MAY encounter some problems.

I wondered about that, but then I figured well, they sell a more expensive "full" version...why would anyone buy that? Hmmm....

Anytime mate. I think its a very useful. Its a little exploit I dont think microsoft thought about. but its perfect legal to do..your not breaking any laws lol and you have pretty much got a full version for the price of an upgrade version.
