8600GT 3DMark 06 score - Page 6

See none of this would be worth it unless you overclock them. The card is only $100 so if something goes wrong then it doesnt hurt as much. Now if I bought a $300+ card and did this and fubard something then things would really suck so most people will run those stock or slightly overclocked in fear of smoking it. So basically two overclocked GTs would still be worthwhile compared to one 8800gt or gts because the performance would be very similar in games. GuardianOdin is half way there and I really hope he does it and posts his results.

I agree, Thing is a lot of us are on budgets,so buying a video card that could be damaged because of volt modding or OC'ing in general is more easily replaced than a $300-$400 vidcard.

Thanks shaggy56, as soon as I can get the parts it will be done.=)

I ran the ATI tool for aritifacting for about 30 minutes with OC at 870/940 and didn't see any. Maybe your cooling wasn't enough for the card or it may have had a defect.

I have two 80mm fans blowing on the card as well as the 900, not sure if those extra two 80mm fans are helping much.

Edit: didn't see you had the mem at 975, Mine didn't like that either. 940 seems to be the limit at least on the eVGA card.
