MS Outlook experts...help!

Thread Starter
I just built another system to replace one of my older rigs. I need to 'swap' my Outlook files, phonebook, tasks..etc...ALL settings basically, to my new computer, running Outlook 03'.

Heres what I have done so far:

I have found the data file for Microsoft Outlook, and the 'archive' file...I tried to copy them, but they are protected...I tried to move them, no dice.

I tried to save the settings from '97' and then transferred the file and attempted to upload it into '03'...it opens..an nothing..it doesnt contain any information from my original account! ***?

--------------

Things to try next...?

I have a PC-phone..if I upload my settings into 'Palm-Outlook' ...will they download into Outlook 03?

Please help!! Mad Rep+ for solving this urgent issue! My old Outlook program has 90+pg phonebook of customers and my calendar has all of my active accounts! I am helpless, and wandering around like an idot, trying not to go crazy, as i struggle to fix this problem.

Did you actually try to "import" it in outlook, or did you just copy the file into the directory?

Did you try to export the files in say, a csv format? FILE>IMPORT/EXPORT.....although if it's an earlier version than 03, I don't know if that option is there.

yes, there is the option to export to file...but when I save a copy and try to 'import' on the new cpu, Outlook, doesnt want to upload from the file..it wants to upload from a database.

tried both..
Do I have to make the Outlook user info, open to other users to be able to copy it?
