I'm a diehard computer gamer but GTA4 and halo3 are looking good... oh well, just wait a year and I bet they'll be out for computer

I really have no intention of paying 5-600 bucks for a freaking console. PC, you can do alot more than just play games. Consoles, dont think there is much else you can do with them.

Dont go in the consoles section, problem solved to play crysis you need like a 2 Grand machine, when for 250$ you could have the same experience - fun-. buy a 400$ pc and then buy a 360 and see who has the most fun playing games.

I agree with the OP, all I've ever needed was my pc. The only time I use my Gamecube is when friends are over and we want to play a game together, so we have at it in a few rounds of Smash Brothers. It would be the same if I had a Wii. Once I start living with my girlfriend though, the Wii will probably be part of our living room, something to play together, maybe.

only reason I'd get a console would be to play the Devil May Cry series and the God of War series. Bastrds cant even bring it over to pc. As if an extra half a million dollars in sales wouldnt hurt or something...

After the Next-Gen consoles are released theres ALWAYS computer hardware upgrades you can purchase that can surpass the consoles in *Different, not better* ways.

That and I think PCs just have more depth to them, both in video games and functionality.

Anyone else feel like this? lol

yep your thinking the same as me..stick to your pc.

Say you're (an unwealthy person) like me and once you buy your new PC, for the next 2-3 years most of your computer money goes into having the newest games. Then you realize your PC needs a makeover; so you hold onto any re-usable parts (mainly the CPU, disk drives, and hard drives) and buy upgrades for everything else. I just did this in the past month and I made a pretty kick-ass gaming PC for under $500 (with two EVGA 7600GTs @ 560/1400 in the mail, up from my old Radeon X800 lol). From all the benchmarks and reviews I've read of the components I'm putting into my frankenbox PC, FEAR, Company of Heroes, BF2, etc etc. and any Source games will be looking pretty damn stunning. I just sold my old GPU for $50 on ebay, and my old mobo + 1gb ram might fetch me another $50-80. For a net cost of under $400 I'm pretty happy!

Now... Consoles. You buy the newest, bestest console on the market at the original retail price when it comes out (the 360 was what- $500? 400?). Like the PC owner you spend the next couple years putting most money into games, controllers, & little accessories. In 3 years the next nextgen console will come out, backwards compatible with all your old Xbox games. You spend $500 on that and sell your 360 for a hundred bucks or so; overall digging a $400 hole in your pocket.

Hmm, same price. But I don't know if my PC will be nearly as good as a 360... probably not. But I'm getting so much more out of a PC than a person with an XBox 360 and no PC is getting. Keep in mind, as long as we're talking about cost of PC vs. cost of console: a person with a console still needs a PC to do everyday tasks like surf the web, check email, instant-message, listen to/store all their music, etc etc. So, if you're going to compare cost of a console to the cost of a PC, the console owner still needs to buy/upgrade a pc about as often as they're upgrading their console.

Personally, I'd much rather have a great PC that does everything I want than buy a great console and a low-end PC for everything else. Most of my time would probably be spent gaming on the console than keeping my PC running smoothly (I've seen my share of console fanboys abuse their PCs to no limit). Gaming is my life (I'm currently at a 4-yr university studying to become a game designer) and at this time I see no point to go the way of a console jockey. Currently, consoles are trying to be more like PCs ("omg the xbox has a hard drive!"), offering "new" software (and in some cases hardware) that the PC has had access to for years. Also, while console'rs might cringe everytime a game has an unavoidable framerate drop, PC gamers will fix it in a 20 second trip to their graphics settings- just the tip of the iceberg of customizable settings that PC gamers have access to over console gamers.

Also, FPS games kick ass on PC (mouse/keyboard). So do more complex games that require many keys/buttons (flight sims, for example) while consoles are much much more limited as far as input control schemes.

Yes, PCs are harder to manage. It's understandable someone that likes games would rather have a console than bother to learn about PC hardware & software if gaming is only a small hobby for the weekends. Consoles clearly have their audience.

PC efffff-teeee-double-you.

The PS2 was probably my last console. Now I just ask for computer parts !
They aren't dynamic enough...I love upgrading and fiddling around with my computer. Plus, the graphics are SOOOOO much better and the games much more diverse.
And, as daminox said, you do EVERYTHING with my computer...I don't even need a TV (seriously, i don't watch tv anymore, just download my shows)
Also, your computer works great as a console too (i regularly play SNES and Sega Genesis games on it)

As far as same price, this is only if you are educated in building a PC (most aren't). If you only upgrade your entire computer at a time, consoles will be MUCH cheaper than spending $1500 at dell once every couple of years!

I can go without a PS3 or an Xbox 360 (because PC's will surpass then if they haven't already), but the Wii however, is different from most consoles. It offers something that a PC can't (for the same cost anyway). Its more fun and much more interactive than any game with a standard controller or a mouse and keyboard. I also like consoles for the much easier multiplayer setup. I don't have to setup a LAN with people lugging their computers everywhere just to play a game with my friends. And also I'm not a graphics freak, the Wii graphics can look like N64 for I care. What really matters to me in gaming is the actual gameplay.
